Baking sheets are so versatile! They can be used to bake delicious sweets such as cookies or even roast veggies! However, if you use them frequently you probably know that they can be a pain to clean.
It can sometimes be very difficult to clean and you need to really scrub them to get them clean and shiny again!
Fortunately, there is a trick that can make your job much easier. And it is so effective that you won't have to scrub your baking sheet ever again.
All you need for this trick is only two ingredients! The good news is, you probably already have them at home! You will need baking soda, as well as 10% hydrogen peroxide.
Here is how to:
- On your cooled baking sheet, sprinkle a layer of baking soda.
- Then pour in just enough 10% hydrogen peroxide to moisten the layer of baking soda, and sprinkle on a second layer.
- Leave it on for 2 hours, and rinse with water.
- Without even rubbing, your baking sheet will be sparkling clean!
You can apply two coats of baking soda and a small amount of 10% hydrogen peroxide to remove all stubborn charred residue on the baking sheet.
But if you don't want to wait 2 hours, you can also mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a paste. You just have to scrub this paste to remove residue, burns and grease from the baking sheet. Note that it also works for kitchen utensils.
Do you often bake and cook with baking sheets? What is your best trick to remove residue?
